01 ARRIVAL IN NOSY BE Arrival in Nosy Be, the
most appreciated destination in Madagascar for its beautiful beaches, its corals,
and mainly for its Ylang Ylang scent. Overnight and dinner at the VANILA HOTEL
. 02 03 04 NOSY BE Free stay at leisure till departure.
Different excursions and activities can be organised with hotel and many providers.
05 NOSY BE - ANTANANARIVO Flight back to Antananarivo.

ANTANANARIVO – AMBOSITRA Drive southward on the national road N°07. Just from
about fifty kilometres from the capital, on a multitude of Imerina : arts and
craft objects stretches along the road and embellish the landscape : sacks made
from sisal fibber, kitchen utensils made from aluminium, different animals and
plants made from the raphia fibber, small cars made from wood. Arrival in Antsirabe
and its Thermal baths, “Malagasy Vichy” the territory of the rickshaws, the means
of transport par excellence of the city. Antsirabe is also the industrial and
agricultural center of Madagascar. Continuation southward with stop in Ambositra
which is a town well known for its wood carvings, it is also the starting point
to discover the Zafimaniry Country.Visit of the marquetry and sculpture’s shops.
Overnight and dinner at L’ARTISAN HOTEL. 07 AMBOSITRA
– AMBALAVAO Continuation through the Betsileo area in passing through the capital
city: Fianarantsoa. The next step is Ambalavao which is located at 60 Km south
from Fianarantsoa. Visit of the small Antemoro paper factory. After that visit,
drive to the private park of Anja where you can discover the ring tailed lemur.
Ambalavao is the starting point to reach the Andringitra high range of mountain,
especially for the trekkers people. Overnight and dinner at the BOUGAINVILLIERS
hotel. 08 AMBALAVAO – RANOHIRA After the visit
continuation of the drive. From here you will enjoy another type of landscape
with lots of rocky formations: the south gates, the bishop’s hat…. Before entering
the village of Ranohira, you will cross the Horombe table land. Arrival in Ranohira
at the end of the afternoon. Overnight and dinner at LE JARDIN DU ROY hotel. 09
RANOHIRA Visit of the Isalo National Park. A beautiful place of extraordinary
landscapes with sandstones sculpted by the wind and rain. In the morning visit
of the “Canyon des Makis” where you can find lemurs: the ring tailed, brown and
the Sifaka lemurs. In the afternoon, walk to the natural swimming pool through
the tapia tree and the beautiful landscape of the National Park. Possibility of
swimming. Back to the hotel in late afternoon after enjoying the sun set at the
windows of Isalo. 10 RANOHIRA – TOLIARA – ANTANANARIVO
Continuation southward to Toliara in passing through the Ilakaka village known
for its saphir mining, the town of Ihosy and Sakaraha and the Zombitsy forest.
Stops en route for photos: baobabs, traditional tombs of the Masikoro and the
Mahafaly tribe which stand proudly alongside the road with the Aloalo. Flight
back to Antananarivo. Overnight and dinner at the PALISSANDRE HOTEL. 11
ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE Drive to the eastern part of the great island, on the
national road N° Visit of Mr Peyreiras private reptile’s farm: a batch of reptiles,
batrachians, amphibians are found there, as well as the largest butterfly in the
world, the « Comet moth », and a various species of chameleons. Visit of the VAKONA
private park to discover lemurs and crocodiles
12 ANDASIBE – ANTANANARIVO - HOME Visit within the Analamazaotra national reserve
in the morning for looking for the largest living lemur called « Babakoto », observation
of this endemic species in its natural habitat Drive back to Antananarivo. Visit
of some crafts market then flight out. |
